The USC President’s High-Tech Scholars:
Welcome to a future of endless posibilities!
Program Description
The USC President’s High-Tech Scholars is the premiere scholarship program for tech-interested transfer students from local Community Colleges. We are developing the next generation of ethical tech leadership.
Highlight of Key Components
Our key focus areas for the program support scholars before they start their academic programs at USC and continue through preparing them for careers in a tech field.
Summer Launchpad
The Summer Launchpad is a four-week long residential transition program that helps incoming High-Tech Scholars transition into USC. This integral program component offers an accelerated first-year experience where Scholars begin bonding with a group of peers while gaining exposure to the academic expectations and vast support resources at SC.
Academic Year Activities
The program support is not limited to the Summer Launchpad. We provide enrichment experiences throughout the academic year including 1:1 mentoring and advising with our staff, professional development workshops, team building activities, networking events, and much more!
Research and Internship Opportunities
High-Tech Scholars are offered opportunities to participate in world-class, cutting-edge research at USC as well as the rich industry landscape in Los Angeles and beyond. Internships are one of the best ways to get into career pathways that align with your interests, so we ensure that our Scholars are set up for success.
As a community-college transfer student myself, I have great appreciation for the talent and determination community college transfers bring to universities like USC. The High-Tech Scholars program expands our efforts to nurture outstanding students and bring them into key areas of technology such as artificial intelligence, machine learning and data science. It’s wonderful that we can offer these opportunities to our transfer students — and USC as a whole benefits from their presence on our campuses.
